Basketball Stars of America – Fall Basketball Programs

All Fall Basketball Leagues and Sunday Basketball Programs will take place at Sewickley Academy, located at 315 Academy Avenue in Sewickley, PA, 15143. Other Fall programs, such as Weeknight Skills Workouts, Basketball Mini Camps, Individual and Group Skill Development Sessions and Showcase Events, will take place at other various locations. Fall AAU Basketball Leagues

These leagues will focus on player development. Players will play competitive games as well as go through high level skill training sessions each weekend. Top Basketball Stars coaches will be coaching the teams and doing the instruction. The first date will be an evaluation day in order to split up teams. There will be no more than 10 players per team. All players must have BSA black & white or BSA reversible jerseys to participate. If you do not have one or need to order a new one, you may do so for $25.

Junior NIT League/BSA Little Dribblers Development Program:
Boys & Girls ages 3 to 6
Times: Saturdays 9 am to 10 am
Dates: September 11, 18 & 25*, October 2, 9, 16, 23* & 30, November 6 & 13
Cost: $150 per player. ($25 extra jersey fee if new one needed)

NIT League:
Boys & Girls in 2nd through 4th grade
Times: Saturdays 10 am to Noon
Dates: September 11, 18 & 25*, October 2, 9, 16, 23* & 30, November 6 & 13
Cost: $225 per player. ($25 extra jersey fee if new one needed)

NCAA League:
Boys in 5th & 6th grade
Times: Saturdays Noon to 3 pm
Dates: September 11, 18 & 25*, October 2, 9, 16, 23* & 30, November 6 & 13
Cost: $250 per player. ($25 extra jersey fee if new one needed)

NBA East League
Boys in 7th & 8th grade
Times: Saturdays 3 pm to 6 pm
Dates: September 11, 18 & 25*, October 2, 9, 16, 23* & 30, November 6 & 13

NBA West League:
Boys in 9th through 12th grade
Times: Sundays 1 pm to 4 pm
Dates: September 12, 19 & 26*, October 3, 10, 17, 24* & 31, November 7 & 14

WNCAA League:
Girls in 5th through 7th grade
Times: Sundays 5 pm to 8 pm

WNBA League:
Girls in 8th through 12th grade
Times: Sundays 5 pm to 8 pm

*Note: Weekends of September 25th & 26th and October 23rd & 24th, all BSA Fall League teams will play in Weekend Tournaments, which will take place in the Pittsburgh area.

Sunday Basketball Programs: Boot Camps, Academies, Elite Workouts & Speed, Quickness and Basketball Strength Training

Sunday Basketball Boot Camps

One of our most popular programs over the past 4 years, the Boot Camps have become the place to be on Sunday mornings. This program is open to Boys & Girls in 2nd through 12th grade. Players are separated by age and ability and go through an hour and a half of high level basketball drills led by top coaches each Sunday. The improvement in each player is phenomenal.

Times: Sundays 9:30 am to 11 am @ Sewickley Academy
Dates: September 12, 19 & 26*, October 3, 10, 17, 24 & 31, November 7 & 14 (NOTE: Boot Camp on September 26 will be at a location TBA due to Sewickley Clothesline Sale).

BSA Point Guard Academy

This program is open to Boys & Girls in 4th through 12th grade who want to improve their point guard skills. Players who play other positions may also take part in this program. Coach Daryn Freedman, who has coached a number of top NBA point guards, along with top BSA coaches will direct this program. This program is limited to 40 participants.

Times: Sundays 11 am to Noon @ Sewickley Academy
Dates: September 12, 19 & 26*, October 3, 10, 17, 24 & 31, November 7 & 14 (NOTE: Academies on September 26 will be at a location TBA due to Sewickley Clothesline Sale).
Cost: $250 per player (10 sessions) or $30 per session. Save $50 by registering for full season. T-Shirt included for Full Season participants.

BSA Shooting & Scoring Academy

This program is open to Boys & Girls in 4th through 12th grade who want to improve their shooting and scoring skills. Former Division 1 College Basketball Coach Steve Brodzinski and other top BSA Coaches will direct this program. This program is limited to 40 participants.

Times: Sundays Noon to 1 pm @ Sewickley Academy
Dates: September 12, 19 & 26*, October 3, 10, 17, 24 & 31, November 7 & 14 (NOTE: Academies on September 26 will be at a location TBA due to Sewickley Clothesline Sale).

BSA Post Player Academy

This program is open to Boys & Girls in 4th through 12th grade who want to improve their post and inside play skills. Players who play other positions may also take part in this program. Top BSA Coaches will direct this program. This program is limited to 40 participants.

Sunday Elite Basketball Player Workout

This program is limited to 20 players only. Boys & Girls in 7th through 12th grade who are interested in playing college basketball may participate in this group. Coach Freedman and top BSA Coaches will direct this program. Limited to 20 players!

Times: Sundays Noon to 1 pm @ Sewickley Academy
Dates: September 12, 19 & 26*, October 3, 10, 17, 24 & 31, November 7 & 14 (NOTE: Elite Workout on September 26 will be at a location TBA due to Sewickley Clothesline Sale).
Cost: $500 per player (10 sessions) or $60 per session. Save $100 by registering for full season. T-Shirt included for Full Season participants.

Speed, Quickness and Basketball Strength Training

Participants in this program will be pushed and taught to become better athletes by improving speed, quickness, jumping and strength. Boys and Girls in 4th to 12th grade may participate.

Times: Sundays 4 pm to 5 pm @ Sewickley Academy
Dates: September 12, 19 & 26*, October 3, 10, 17, 24 & 31, November 7 & 14 (NOTE: Session on September 26 will be at a location TBA due to Sewickley Clothesline Sale).

Introducing Weeknights This Fall - Skills Nights:

Skills Nights are a new program this year which will feature top BSA Coaches working with players to improve their skills. We have set up the locations so players from all over the Pittsburgh area may take part.

Pittsburgh South Hills Skills Nights at Hillcrest Christian Academy

Individual & Group Skill Development

These skill development workouts are by appointment only and take place on weeknights, after school and on weekends. Appointments can be made by calling the Basketball Stars office at 412-400-1320. These are high intensity workout sessions led by Coach Freedman and other top Basketball Stars staff.

Cost: $75 per hour per player for 1 on 1 Workouts. $50 per hour per player for small group workouts (up to 5 players.)

About Basketball Stars of America

Basketball Stars of America has made an immediate impact on basketball in the Pittsburgh area. Started in 2007 by former College and Pro Basketball Coach Daryn Freedman, Basketball Stars of America has provided true basketball development in the Pittsburgh area. Coach Freedman has assembled a group of top coaches in the area which includes many Varsity High School Coaches as well as many former Division 1 College Players who are establishing themselves as top young coaches in the country. Basketball Stars of America stresses player development first and foremost. Any time a player shows up to a Basketball Stars event, they will be taught.

The Director of Basketball Stars of America is Coach Daryn Freedman. Coach Freedman has served on the staff of the New Jersey Nets and Philadelphia 76ers of the NBA as well as Division 1 Schools University of Memphis, UMass, Northeastern University and most recently Duquesne University. Freedman has also served as Head Coach at Brimmer and May School in Boston, Massachusetts, where he led his team to four straight league championships and the New England Prep School Championship in his four seasons at the school. Freedman has coached and worked with top players such as Chris Paul, Lebron James and Dwyane Wade. Freedman earned a degree in Sports Management at the University of Massachusetts and a law degree at Seton Hall Law School in New Jersey. Coach Freedman is entering his 2nd season as Head Men’s Basketball Coach at the Kiski School in Saltsburg, PA, where he has established one of the top Prep Basketball programs in the country. Coach Freedman and staff share the goal of improving basketball in the Pittsburgh area.

The Basketball Stars Class of 2010 included 6 players who will be on Division 1 College Basketball Rosters this season. We expect this trend of producing high level College Basketball players to continue. However, for players to get to that level, they must put the work in and that is what Basketball Stars of America is all about.
