Year Round Basketball Programs

**All Winter Basketball Programs will take place at Sewickley Academy, 315 Academy Ave. in Sewickley, PA unless noted otherwise and all programs will have limited availability and are expected to sell out.

These leagues will focus on player development. Players will play competitive games as well as go through high level skill training sessions each weekend. Top Basketball Stars coaches will be coaching the teams and doing the instruction. The first date will be an evaluation day in order to split up teams. There will be no more than 10 players per team. There are no extra weeknight practices, within each 2 hour session there will be skill work, practice and games. Every player will improve!

Winter League Dates: December 7, 14, 21 & 28, January 4, 11, 18 & 25
Cost: $225 per player plus $25 jersey fee if player did not play in Fall League or needs a new jersey

NIT League: Boys & Girls in 2nd through 4th grade
Times: Sundays 1 pm to 3 pm @ Sewickley Academy - Alumni Gymnasium

NCAA League: Boys in 5th & 6th grade
Times: Sundays 1 pm to 3 pm @ Sewickley Academy - Snyder Gymnasium

NBA East League: Boys in 7th & 8th grade
Times: Sundays 3 pm to 5 pm @ Sewickley Academy - Alumni Gymnasium

NBA West League: Boys in 9th through 12th grade
Times: Sundays 3 pm to 5 pm @ Sewickley Academy - Snyder Gymnasium

WNCAA League: Girls in 5th through 7th grade
Times: Sundays 5 pm to 7 pm @ Sewickley Academy - Alumni Gymnasium

WNBA League: Girls in 8th through 10th grade
Times: Sundays 5 pm to 7 pm @ Sewickley Academy - Snyder Gymnasium

These Mini Camps allow players to experience the country’s best basketball instruction. Players will go through top teaching stations as well as play games and take part in competitions. These camps will run from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm daily and are for Boys & Girls in 1st through 12th grade. The cost is only $50 per camper per day of camp and includes a Camp T-shirt. Sewickley Academy is located at 315 Academy Ave in Sewickley, PA 15143 and South Hills JCC is located in the Upper St. Clair/Mt. Lebanon/Bethel Park area at 345 Kane Blvd. in Pittsburgh, PA 15243.

The Sunday Basketball Boot Camps are the place to be on Sunday mornings. Players go through an hour and a half of high level basketball drills led by top coaches each Sunday. The improvement in each player is phenomenal.

Times: Sundays 9:30 am to 11:00 am for Boys & Girls in 1st through 6th grade @ Sewickley Academy - Alumni Gymnasium

Cost: $30 per session or $300 for 12 sessions prepaid (save $60) or $400 for 16 sessions prepaid (save $80).

This program is open to Boys & Girls in 4th through 12th grade who want to improve their point guard skills. Players who play other positions may also take part in this program. Coach Daryn Freedman, who has coached a number of top NBA point guards, will direct this program. This program is limited to 40 participants.

Times: Sundays 11 am to Noon @ Sewickley Academy - Snyder Gymnasium
Dates: December 7, 14, 21 & 28, January 4, 11, 18 & 25
Cost: $30 per session or $200 for 8 sessions - Includes t-shirt and thorough evaluation at end of season.

This program is open to Boys & Girls in 4th through 12th grade who want to improve their post and inside play skills. Players who play other positions may also take part in this program. Coach Almamy Thiero, who played center and power forward for the University of Memphis, will direct this program. This program is limited to 40 participants.

Times: Sundays 11 am to Noon @ Sewickley Academy - Alumni Gymnasium
Dates: December 7, 14, 21 & 28, January 4, 11, 18 & 25
Cost: $30 per session or $200 for 8 sessions - Includes t-shirt and thorough evaluation at end of season.

This program is limited to 20 players only. Boys & Girls in 9th through 12th grade (Elite Player) and 4th through 8th grade (Junior Elite Player) who are interested in playing college basketball may participate in this group. Coach Freedman will direct this program and each participant must be approved by him. Limited to 20 players!

Times: Sundays Noon to 1 pm @ Sewickley Academy - Snyder Gymnasium
Dates: December 7, 14, 21 & 28, January 4, 11, 18 & 25
Cost: $50 per session - Includes t-shirt and complete scouting report by Coach Freedman at the end of the season.

This program will be led by former University of Memphis Basketball player Almamy Thiero. All participants will be pushed and taught to become better athletes by improving speed, quickness, jumping and strength. Boys and Girls in 6th through 12th grade may participate.

Cost: $35 per session or $250 for 8 sessions

These skill development workouts are by appointment only and take place weeknights, after school and on weekends. Appointments can be made by calling the Basketball Stars office at 412-375-7420. These are high intensity workout sessions led by Coach Freedman and other top Basketball Stars staff.

Waiver: I understand that I am enrolling my child in the Basketball Stars of America/Hoop Mountain PA Program and that the Basketball Stars of America, Coach Daryn Freedman, Hoop Mountain PA, Sewickley Academy, South Hills JCC or any coaches will not be liable for any injuries incurred during participation in the program. I also understand that there are no refunds! If a player is injured and can’t continue, he or she will receive a prorated credit towards another BSA or Hoop Mountain PA program.
